The first weekend of scrimmages for the 2023-24 NC Volleyball season has begun. I was able to get over to West Henderson and watch four local powerhouses square off against each other. Foard, Polk, T.C. Roberson, and West Henderson all are perennial contenders for the state championship year-after-year, and they descended into Mills River to shake things out of their new teams against some tough competition.
Each game I saw showed some incredibly competitive teams and amazing players. No one backed down from each other, and no girl on the court was intimidated by their formable opponent. These teams looked very good after only one week of practice – I am certain all 4 will be a force to reckon with this Fall!!!
