Black Hawks v. Falcons. What a great night of basketball!
On Friday, Jan 12, the very talented North Buncombe Black Hawks made their way to the West Henderson to face a very confident and skilled set of Falcon basketball teams. All of the teams played well and with plenty of emotion. On the night several technicals were called as players and coaches were refusing to give an inch in any of the games. The Falcons were able to win 3 of the 4 games, but all the teams and games were competitive and fun to watch.
It was really special to see North Buncombe Junior Ren Dyer up close. I was perched on the West side of the court when he put on a 4th quarter scoring show and missed getting photos of his incredible night, but I knew that he was a special player who will go far. So happy for him that after the game he received an offer to play at Western Carolina University when he graduates. I hope to see more of him before he leaves the high school ranks!
