Saturday at West Henderson High School volleyball was nothing short of electrifying as the 1st Annual Falcon Bash Invitational Volleyball Tournament 2025 crowned its very first champion. After last year’s planned debut was canceled due to Hurricane Helene, the anticipation for this event was sky-high—and the action absolutely delivered.
From the very first serve of the day, it was clear that the competition would be fierce. There were no easy wins, no blowouts, and match after match pushed into three sets. Every rally mattered, and every team brought its very best. As a photographer, I was exhausted just capturing the intensity—so I can only imagine the effort and endurance these athletes poured into every point.
The quarterfinals and finals carried all the intensity of a state playoff game. Players dove for impossible saves, fought through long rallies, and showed pure determination to bring victory to their teams. The stands were alive with cheers, and the energy in the newly renovated gyms made for an unforgettable atmosphere.

This first Falcon Bash Invitational has set the stage for a new tradition in Western North Carolina volleyball. The wait after last year’s cancellation was worth it, and this year’s athletes created memories that will carry forward into future tournaments.
Congratulations to all the teams—Ashe County, Brevard, Cherokee, Enka, Hickory, North Iredell, and West Henderson—for making this event such a success.
