The West Henderson Falcons came out strong and never looked back in their semifinal matchup against Smoky Mountain on Tuesday night, sweeping the Mustangs 3-0. From the opening serve, you could feel the electricity in the gym: this team is focused, confident, and clearly ready for another championship run.
The Falcons dominated every phase of the game. The front line brought power and precision, while the back row hustled for every dig. Their teamwork was as sharp as ever, and their energy never wavered.
Marley Orr was a spark for the Falcons all night, delivering several key serves that ignited the team and helped them dominate all night. Her leadership and composure on the court continue to anchor this team’s rhythm.
Meanwhile, Holland Corbin was a force at the net, playing her role of setter to perfection. Her skills made it tough for Smoky Mountain to get any kind of rhythm going and she seemed to be everywhere the Falcons needed her.
It was a full-team effort from start to finish, with every player contributing to the sweep. The win not only advanced the Falcons to the conference championship but also solidified their position as one of the top contenders in the NCHSAA 5A Playoffs.
Next up, the Falcons will face Franklin on Wednesday night for the championship, and you can bet they’ll be ready. If they bring the same fire and focus they showed against Smoky Mountain, it’s going to be another exciting night of West Henderson volleyball.
I’m so proud of this team and how far they’ve come. Watching these girls grow into such a confident, cohesive unit has been a joy — and I can’t wait to see what they do next. Let’s fill the stands and cheer them on to another title!
