I love playoff volleyball. I was able to visit Polk County High School yesterday as their incredible volleyball team faced Walkertown in the first round of the NCHSAA Girls Volleyball 3A Tournament. Polk County had an amazing first game, winning in 3 sets, never letting the visiting Wolfpack get within 10 points of their victory.
It was exciting to celebrate Reeve Carroll’s 1,000th dig, achieved during the match. She was simply on fire diving for every point that she could. Congratulations, Reeve!
And a huge recognition goes to Abby Lewis who, to open the third set, served 17 straight serve points before serve was broken by the visiting team. It was a showcase of her skills and the team’s persistence in backing her up.
And, as any Tournament Victory should, the girls were rewarded with a Wolverine Pizza Party (check them out! Delicious!).
Good luck to this team as they continue their journey in these playoffs!
